It's almost 8:00 am and I'm enjoying my last Peace Corps-free hours to catch my breath, start this blog (finally!), and take care of the omnipresent last minute issues. I now have a little more clarity about what the next couple of days/weeks/months will look like, and they look EXHAUSTING! And the last couple of weeks have been so stress-free (just ask everyone who helped me to pack and clean!)
Anyhoo, it looks like there will be very little internet connection/activity from me until September. The Peace Corps wants full-body cultural immersion so that we can learn the language, get comfortable with the culture and learn survival skills without the distractions of home. Maybe I'll sneak away to an internet cafe, but don't count on anything until I get settled.
So, what should you do in the meantime (besides living your lives, I mean)? Write me letters! I have a temp address, yay! Feel free to drop a line. As far as I know, there's no ban on writing letters, so I may even write you back! I know that's very wishy-washy, but my reputation is not very solid for writing letters, but I will do my best.
And (drum roll, please!) my address is:
Ronda Ansted
Peace Corps
PO Box 9536
Pretoria 0001

Peace to all of you. I'll try to post more before I go, but no guarantees.
